‘Back pain’ 152km ace, first successful bullpen pitching… Return within 2 weeks at the earliest

Kwak Bin (Doosan), who voluntarily suffered from back pain, started a full-fledged comeback in the second group.

Doosan coach Lee Seung-yeop reported the current situation of Kwak Bin, who is undergoing rehabilitation, prior to the 5th game of the season against the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League KIA held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 13th.

Gwak Bin, who took off as a Doosan ace, voluntarily gave up after complaining of back pain after giving up 6 runs in 1⅓ innings against LG on the 7th. A Doosan official said at the time, “We will set a later schedule according to the recovery trend.”안전놀이터

Fortunately, the pain was quickly relieved. Coach Lee said, “Kwak Bin pitched in the bullpen yesterday, and he will do it again tomorrow. He said, “If the condition is good, he will participate in the actual game on the 17th and see the throwing and decide the call-up time.” He is likely to have a call-up in 2 weeks at the earliest. Of course, he will continue to check his condition because his body is important even after throwing.”

Doosan included Choi Seung-yong, a rookie left-hander who moved to the bullpen following Dylan Pyle’s return from injury following Kwak Bin’s departure, to the starting rotation again. Assuming that Gwak Bin returns in two weeks, up to three replacement starts are expected, including the Jamsil KIA game that day.
