Manchester United (Manchester United) is stepping up its pursuit of Mason Mount.
“United are ready to increase their transfer fee from £40 million to £50 million to sign Mount,” the Mirror reported on Sunday (Aug. 17).
Mount is considered a favorite to leave this summer. His contract is set to expire in 2024 and he has been in early contract talks but has been unable to reach an agreement.
United have emerged as a likely destination. United manager Eric den Haag wanted to improve the quality of his midfield by letting Scott McTominay and Fred go and bringing in Mount.
The recruitment process was swift. Multiple outlets, including Sky Sports in the UK, reported that United had made a £40 million bid to Chelsea for Mount.
The response was a rejection. Chelsea reportedly informed United that they wanted £70 million for Mount.안전놀이터
United did not give up. According to the report, United prepared a second offer of £50 million for Mount’s signature.
The outlet added: “United believe they can bring the fee down through negotiations, despite Chelsea’s insistence on £70 million. Chelsea could be forced to let Mount leave on a free transfer if they miss out this summer.”
