Cutter, not a sweeper, 2 runs in the 4th inning, fastball OK…How many runs will Panoni score in his comeback? [Oh!Strong Gwangju]

Kia Tigers new outfielder Thomas Pannoni has completed his comeback.바카라

Pannoni started the game against the Samsung Lions at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on Wednesday. He pitched four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk. He struck out two.

He threw 77 pitches. He was pulled in the fourth inning and was replaced by rookie pitcher Yoon Young-chul. He threw mostly cutters (33) and fastballs (27), with curves (14) and changeups (2). His fastball topped out at 143 km/h and his cutter at 142 km/h. There were no sweepers in his repertoire.

In the bottom of the first, he gave up a double to Guzauk-e to right field and Pirela walked. But he induced Kang Min-ho to fly out to right field to escape the jam. The second and third innings were scoreless, with a strikeout each.

In the fourth inning, however, he ran into trouble. Koo Jae-woo singled to right and Pirela gave up a double that slipped by the third baseman. Kim Jae-sung grounded out to first base for the first run. He struck out Ryu Ji-hyuk, but the pitch to Kang Kang-ul was high and into the gap for the second run.

He induced Kim Sung-yoon to fly out to centre field to end the inning. He did not take the mound until the fifth inning, as manager Kim Jong-kook had said before the game that he would throw about 80 pitches.

Panoni joined the team last year as an alternate outfielder and went 3-4 with a 2.72 ERA in 14 games. He was not re-signed after the season and returned to the United States. But he was back in a Tigers uniform when KIA made a bold move to replace right-hander Shawn Anderson and re-sign Pannoni.

“In the second half, I need to make one or two starts,” Kim said before the game. I thought it was better for him to pitch at least once and close out the first half. I’m looking forward to last year’s performance. My pitches are stable and I have a good way to settle the game. In the minors this year, there were reports that his fastball was better than last year. We’ll have to see today.”

It was a somewhat disappointing outing, but it was a taster to get him acclimatised. Panoni will be ready for the All-Star break and will join Mario Sanchez as a one-two punch in the second half. Read more at
