Darvish exchanged the ball with Shinya Tsuruoka (42), whom he worked with at the time of the Nippon Ham Fighters. He seemed to be warming up his shoulders, gradually increasing the distance.

Afterwards, Darvish is said to have advised junior pitchers Rocky Sasaki (22, Chiba Lotte Marines) and Hiroya Miyagi (22, Orix) on the grip and release point at the indoor practice range.

Darvish was the only major leaguer who attended the training that day.

Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels), Seiya Suzuki (Chicago Cubs), Las Nutba (St. Louis Cardinals), and Masataka Yoshida (Boston Red Sox) will move to Japan in March.

There are observations that Darvish, the oldest player in the Japanese national team, will start in the WBC Group B round 1 match against Korea at 7:00 pm on the 10th of next month at Tokyo Dome, Japan.
