‘Iranian Fox’ coach Queiroz, appointed Qatar national team commander 

Former Iran coach Carlos Queiroz has been officially appointed as the coach of the Qatar national football team.

The Qatar Football Association officially announced on the 7th (Korean time) that it has signed a contract with coach Carlos Queiroz until the 2026 World Cup in North and Central America. Queiroz signed a contract with Qatar Football Association Secretary-General Mansour Al-Ansari at the Alvida Tower in Doha, Qatar on the same day.

Coach Queiroz is a commanding tower widely known to domestic fans as “Iran’s longest-serving coach” who led the Iranian national team for 8 years from 2011 to 2019. He returned to the Qatar World Cup finals in 2022, led Iran and commanded three World Cups. 메이저놀이터

Queiros, who was born in Portugal, recruited coaches for his country, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Iran, Colombia, and Egypt, and went to the World Cup finals with South Africa in 2002, Portugal in 2010, and Iran in 2014, 2018, and 2022. At club level, he managed Sporting CP, MLS New York-New Jersey Metro Stars and Real Madrid, before serving as Alex Ferguson’s assistant coach at Manchester United.

Queiroz, who has been appointed as Qatar’s coach for the past five years to succeed Felix Sanchez, who led the team to its first ever Asian Cup victory in 2019, will lead the Qatar national team in the North and Central America Gold Cup in June for his first challenge. This is his second appearance since reaching the semifinals in 2019.
