Lee Jung-hwan, 32, a three-year veteran of the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour, set the stage for his third career victory at the KB Financial Live Championship (total prize money: 700 million won).
Lee carded seven birdies and one bogey in the second round of the tournament, which continued on Saturday at Blackstone GC (Par 72) in Icheon, South Korea. His two-day total of 7-under par 137 is tied for the lead with Kim Min-soo.
Lee, who made his debut in 2010, accumulated two career wins before enlisting in the Korean Army in late 2018. He returned to the tour for the 2021 season, but he hadn’t been able to recapture the accuracy that made him the “Iron Man” before his enlistment. He was even hotter on the first day of the tournament, hitting 77.7 percent of his greens in regulation. “All of my shots were on the pin, so I had a lot of chances,” Lee said, adding, “If I just focus on my game, I’ll be able to win.”안전놀이터
