Doosan’s Won-jun Choi’s best pitching performance of the season was cut short after 59 pitches due to a blister on his finger.

Choi started the 12th game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against KIA at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Sunday and pitched five innings of four-hit ball,바카라 striking out one and walking none.

Choi Won-jun returned to the starting rotation after a stint in the bullpen. Against a KIA lineup that had won nine straight games, he pitched a four-hit shutout through five innings. After back-to-back triple plays in the first and second innings, he overcame runners on first and first in the third, second and first in the fourth, and second and second in the fifth. Choi Won-jun’s loss was a blow to the homegrown ace’s pride as he moved into second place in the league with nine losses.

Choi took the mound in the sixth inning with a 2-0 lead, but was unable to continue pitching. The umpires and trainers gathered on the mound to check the condition of Choi’s finger, and after 59 pitches, the decision was made to replace him. Kim Myung-shin took the mound.

A Doosan official explained, “Choi Won-jun was replaced due to a blister on his right middle finger.”

Doosan led KIA 2-0 in the top of the sixth inning. Won-jun Choi’s surprise appearance gave them a chance to avenge the previous day’s loss.
