‘Lamello Bowl-holding’ Charlotte says the No. 2 pick is Scooter Henderson anyway

The Charlotte Hornets could go with a LaMelo Ball (21)-Scott Henderson (19) combination.

“I don’t think we have a full talent pool yet, but we have a lot more prospects than we did two or three years ago,” Charlotte head coach Mitch Kupchak said in a recent interview with The Athletic.

“So we can be a little bit tricky and look at position as well as talent, which is the first half,” he added, offering no clues as to who the team will select with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

However, Charlotte did put “combo guard” Terry Rozier on the trade market in February and will likely try to deal him again this offseason. This suggests that Charlotte has lost faith in Rosier and is leaning toward drafting Henderson.

Additionally, Charlotte would like to bring back Myles Bridges, who was forced to leave the team last season after an unfortunate incident. Bridges is an explosive, athletic wing who played the same position as Brandon Miller, a top-three prospect in the 2023 draft.

If Charlotte were to select him, they could have multiple ball-handlers.

The current Finals-bound Denver Nuggets have a ball-handler regime of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, and the Miami Heat, who are cruising in the Eastern Conference Finals, also have multiple ball-handlers in Jimmy Butler, Gabe Vincent, Kyle Lowry, and the injured Tyler Hiro. Plus, Boston has Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Derrick White and Malcolm Brogdon. The Lakers have also been scrambling all season to find a ball-handler to play alongside LeBron James.

With ball handlers becoming more and more important by the day, Henderson could be a surprisingly good fit for Charlotte. Henderson has the explosive athleticism and athletic frame that Ball, whose primary weapons are creative passing and erratic rhythm, lacks.안전놀이터

As such, they could be an ideal pairing, similar to the Luca Doncic-Jaylen Brunson duo that led the Dallas Mavericks to the Conference Finals last season.

Meanwhile, Salah’s general manager, Mitch Kupchak, hasn’t given a clear indication of who he’ll pick. Therefore, he will continue to analyze and compare Henderson and Miller right up until the NBA 2023 Draft on June 22.
