Lotte’s ‘resignation idol’ Yoon Dong-hee hits her first professional home run, proving she can bat No. 4

The Lotte Giants have seen the potential of their new No. 4 hitter, Yoon Dong-hee (20). Yoon Dong-hee made his presence felt with his first professional home run.

Lotte lost its sixth game of the season against the Samsung Lions at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on Nov. 11, 4-6, thanks to a game-tying two-run home run by Samsung’s Kang Min-ho in the bottom of the 10th inning. Lotte won one and lost two of the three-game series against Samsung.

Lotte took Samsung to extra innings thanks to a quality start from starter Park Se-woong, who pitched six and two-thirds innings of two-run ball, and focused hitting from the bats, but gave up a game-winning home run to Kang Min-ho. Lotte dropped one spot to fourth place, giving up the third spot to NC.

Yoon Dong-hee was unable to record the game-winning hit in the team’s loss, but she had a solid day at the plate. Yoon went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and one run scored in the game.

Yoon came to bat in the top of the sixth inning with her team leading 1-0 and hit an outfield sacrifice fly to bring home Jeon Jun-woo, who was on third base. Yoon’s sacrifice gave Lotte a 2-0 lead.

With the score tied 3-3 in the 10th inning, Yoon hit her first professional home run with a wild swing. With two outs in the 10th inning, Yoon pulled a ball from Samsung’s fifth pitcher Hong Jung-woo for a come-from-behind solo home run. With her first professional home run, Yoon made her presence known to Sutton.

After crossing the plate, Yoon came into the dugout to be congratulated by her teammates. Yoon received a warm hug from team veteran Jeon Jun-woo.

Lotte took a 4-3 lead with Yoon’s home run, but gave up a tying run in the bottom of the 10th inning and a game-tying two-run homer to Samsung in a 4-6 loss.

Yoon has fully adapted to the first team this season and has established herself as a mainstay. In 32 games this season, Yoon is batting .289 (28-for-97) with 10 RBIs. On defense, Yoon has filled the void left by Jack Rex and has been dubbed the “resignation idol” by fans, along with Kim Min-seok (19).안전놀이터

Lotte manager Larry Sutton used Yoon as the No. 4 hitter in both games of the three-game series against Samsung because of her good batting average. Yoon shook off the psychological pressure and showed off her skills by hitting for the cycle in the No. 4 spot for two consecutive days.
