Samsung shakes off fluttershy…leader LG ends 5-game winning streak

Baseball’s ninth-ranked Samsung has put the brakes on leader LG’s winning streak.

Samsung took down LG’s foreign ace Plutko in a thrilling upset.

메이저놀이터 Trailing 0-2 in the sixth inning, Samsung began to rattle LG starter Plutko with back-to-back bunt hits.

With the bases loaded, Samsung scored its first run when Koo Ja-rook’s shot hit Plutko for an infield single, and then tied the game when Kang Min-ho’s grounder was thrown away by third baseman Moon Bo-kyung.

With the bases loaded, Ryu Ji-hyeok hit a two-run single to center field to tie the game and bring in Plutko.

Despite giving up two runs in the bottom of the ninth, Oh Seung-hwan was able to hold on for a 6-5 victory, ending LG’s six-game winning streak.

Starter Won Tae-in, who pitched six innings of two-run ball, earned his fifth win of the season.
