The home team, Jeju, deployed Ji Sang-wook, Yuri Jonatan, and Kim Dae-hwan up front. Lee Chang-min and Koo Ja-cheol were in charge of the midfield, and Lee Ju-yong and Ahn Hyun-beom were in charge of the flanks. Kim Joo-won, Kim Bong-soo, 안전놀이터and Kim O-kyu were deployed in defense, and Kim Dong-jun was in charge of the goal. Jeju coach Nam Ki-il brought out the same lineup as the previous Suwon Samsung game.

The visiting team, Jeonbuk, brought out the top 3 cards of Song Min-gyu, Hapa Silva, and Lee Dong-jun. Jung Woo-jae, Amano Jun, Baek Seung-ho, and Park Chang-woo were deployed as midfielders. Lastly, Park Jin-seop, Kim Gun-woong, Jung Tae-wook and goalkeeper Kim Jeong-hoon started for the defensive line. Park Chang-woo made his debut match.

Jeju and Jeonbuk, which had the same 3-4-3 model, fiercely attempted flanking attacks. However, due to the strong wind, it was difficult to attempt an accurate pass.

It was Jeju who took out the first replacement card. Coach Nam Ki-il replaced Kim Dae-hwan and Ji Sang-wook in the 13th minute and put in Hayes and Seo Jin-soo.

The first effective shot belonged to Jeonbuk. In the 14th minute of the first half, a roving pass was connected to Jun Amano in a set piece situation. Amano attempted a left-footed shot from inside the box, but Kim Dong-jun succeeded in catching it.

Eight minutes later, Jeju Island launched a counterattack. After Jeju succeeded in pressing, Ahn Hyun-beom drove it to the center with a wonderful dribble. Ahn Hyun-beom passed Baek Seung-ho and fired a left-footed mid-range shot, but it missed the goal.

Afterwards, the balance was broken in the 40th minute as Jeju and Jeonbuk’s attacks were canceled one by one.

Song Min-gyu perfectly controlled the ball that came over from the center at once. After that, with two fakes, he beat the two Jeju defenders and scored a neat opening goal. Song Min-gyu was very happy with Jeonbuk coach Kim Sang-sik immediately after scoring.

Jeju launched a counterattack three minutes later with Yuri and Hayes, but it failed to lead to the last shot.

Jeonbuk’s momentum continued in the second half. In the 3rd minute of the second half, Song Min-gyu once again attacked the space behind Jeju’s defense and gained momentum. A minute later, Ahn Hyun-beom of Jeju had a decisive chance, but goalkeeper Kim Jeong-hoon made a quick decision to block it.

In the 6th minute of the second half, the evil spirit of injury visited Jeonbuk again. Lee Dong-jun, who had collapsed in a big collision with Lee Ju-yong in the previous play, sat down on the ground again. Jeonbuk put in Han Kyo-won.

Afterwards, Jeju aimed for an equalizer with a high line. On the contrary, Jeonbuk lowered the line and maintained a tight defense.

Jeju’s attack, which was rarely blocked, suddenly spewed fire. In the 18th minute corner kick situation, Yuri connected with a header from a high RBI. Even after that, Lee Chang-min and Hayes made effective shots with powerful mid-range shots one by one. However, all of them were canceled by goalkeeper Kim Jeong-hoon’s save.

Jeju’s counterattack continued. Kim Joo-gong and Jeong-woon, who had been replaced, aimed for a turnaround.

An unexpected variable came out in 30 minutes. Hafa Silva, who had already been warned once, was sent off after receiving a second card for using his elbow during a duel with Kim Joo-Won.

Jeju’s attack continued. When Jeonbuk’s defense failed to properly clear Hayes’ cross, Joo-Gong Kim attempted to shoot the ball right in front of the goal post. However, this time, Kim Jung-hoon blocked it.

In the midst of Jeju’s fierce attack, another bad news overlapped for Jeonbuk. This time, he was sent off the bench. When Jeju was awarded a corner kick in the 38th minute of the second half, manager Kim Sang-sik, who strongly protested, was also sent off.

However, Jeonbuk’s shield was solid. On the contrary, he even created an additional goal with a sharp counterattack. Jeju, who launched an attack in the 44th minute of the second half, failed to handle the ball properly in the center. Han Kyo-Won took the ball from the front line and ran to the Jeju goal. Soon after, he passed a pass to Song Min-gyu. Song Min-kyu’s shot came out against the Jeju defense, but Han Kyo-won finished it again and completed the key goal.

There was no reversal after that. In the 47th minute of extra time, Kim Joo-gong shot a long ball, but it went over the goal. Then, in the 49th minute, Lee Ju-yong was sent off for a rough foul and bowed his head.

Jeonbuk posted their 3rd win in the league, and Jeju once again failed to win their first home win.
