Sunbirds win Asia Club Championship behind ‘MVP’ Musialski

Sunbirds lift the trophy.

Sunbirds Suntory (Japan) defeated Jakarta Bayankara (Indonesia) 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17) in the final of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) 2023 Men’s Club Volleyball Championship at the Isa Sports City on Sunday (Nov. 21) local time.

Musialski was named MVP of the match after leading both teams with 31 points. Makasi Oya was honored as the best setter. Jakarta, meanwhile, settled for runner-up honors despite a 21-point performance from V-League player Dowdy Okello.

With the win, Suntory made history as the first Japanese team to win the tournament. It erased the disappointment of finishing runner-up last year and in 2001. Santori will now represent Asia at the FIVB Men’s Club Volleyball World Championship 2023 in India.안전놀이터
