‘WBC silence’ Edmund also exploded… Season’s first home run in 11 games

Last month at the World Baseball Classic (WBC), Tommy Hyeon-soo Edman, who was sluggish after wearing the Taegeuk mark with his mother’s home country’s Korean national team, hit a home run in 11 major league (MLB) opening games.

Edmon of St. Louis started as the second batter and shortstop in the 2023 away game against Colorado held at Coors Field, Colorado, USA on the 12th (Korean time), and exploded his first home run of the season.안전놀이터

Edmund’s bat was spinning fiercely from the first at-bat. In the top of the first inning, he pushed home team starter Kyle Freeland’s second pitch slider and hit a superior solo shot. It was the first home run in 220 days since the Chicago Cubs match on September 4 last year.

Edman did not stop there. He completed a multi-hit with a heavy hit in the top of the 3rd inning, and even recorded a double in the top of the 5th inning. Although he recorded two multi-hits this season, this is the first time he has had a 3-hit game. In the fourth at-bat, he stepped on first base due to an error by the opposing fielder.

At the WBC, Edmund ended the tournament with less than expected results. Even after returning to his team, he did not leave a strong impression, but he rebounded with his first home run of the season that day. His batting average, which stayed at 0.235, rose to 0.289.

St. Louis, who received momentum from Edmon’s performance, quickly overcame the 4-point gap and tied the score at 6-6 in the top of the 7th inning, and is in the bottom of the 7th.
