“Indonesia is a strong team, but we are stronger. Over the past two years, many naturalized players have been created and developed in Indonesia, but we all won.”
Director Shin Tae-yong did not back down either. At the press conference after the match, “If Vietnam is stronger, why did it end up in a tie? Anyone can say that their team is strong,” said manager Park Hang-seo in response.
The two coaches drew media attention for not even shaking hands after the match, in addition to a huge war of nerves.
Indonesian media Sepak Bola said, “Coach Hang-seo Park and Tae-yong Shin didn’t even shake hands after the game. There is a problem with the relationship between the two directors.”
